Want to buy underwear from the Canadian government?

OMJ the government of Canada is trying really  hard to reduce the budget deficit. They are selling ladies thongs…so if you (ladies) need new underwear, you can count on the Canadian government to meet those needs. New can mean "like new" or used underwear according to the government...euwww!! and lol!!!

Last year the interesting business brought in $14 million, so it looks like it’s doing really well for the government. Makes you wonder what else the government is doing. Oh well, at least the deficit is going down….hopefully.
Here is part of the article found on The Star website:

Tonda MacCharles Ottawa Bureau
OTTAWA—It gives a whole new meaning to Crown assets.

The government of Canada in its ongoing quest to balance the books is selling off government property, including—ahem – ladies’ thong underwear.

It’s all about the, uh, bottom line.

After all, the Conservative government has vowed to eliminate the deficit four years from now. Property seized by or forfeited to the Crown must be disposed of.

Why, last year alone, they raked in $14 million.

Public Works and Services Canada’s website is currently displaying a range of sexy thongs that come in pink, magenta, violet, blue, silvery black, white and nude.

And they’re going like hotcakes.

The lingerie, sized XL, was advertised for sale “as is,” and described as “like new.”

A used thong could surely go for — what? 50 cents?

As it turns out, the thongs aren’t “used” – a small translation error, a source explained.

The panties have not been worn, and still have the original tags attached.

However, they’re not exactly “brand new” either.

Scared of Dying?

Msn.ca has posted the top five ways to prolong your life (or as they put it cheat death). The main article and full details can be found on www.menshealth.com

Top Five Ways to Cheat Death:

  1. live in high altitude
    • lower risk of dying from coronary heart disease
    • extra UVA – more vitamin D

  1. make relationships last
    • better immune functioning
    • fewer risks taken that endanger those relationships

  1. brush your teeth
    • reduces heart disease if you brush 3 or more times per day
    • less oral bacteria entering your bloodstream

  1. breath fresh air
    • less dirty air that can trigger inflammatory reactions

  1. accept your age
    • you live 2 years longer
    • you experience healthier behaviours

Based on the above list I think I have many, many years ahead to live and enjoy life.
    • I work on the fourth floor and I live on a hill
    • I have known some people for many, many years
    • I brush my tooth (teeth) …3+ times a day umm I don’t know about that.
    • I like to think Toronto has clean air (In comparison to other places I have been to)
    • I like my age (in 5 or ten years that may change) plus I am the baby of my family since my siblings are all older then moi...haha. Forever young!

I say enjoy life and make it the best you can. Don’t worry about dying. We will all die at some time point, so why waste time and energy thinking about it. Just have fun and try to live a happy, memorable life.

J.LO - VEN A BAILAR

I am hooked on "Ven a Bailar," which is Jennifer Lopez’s Spanish version of "On the Floor" featuring Pitbull. I like both, English & Spanish, versions of the song…..if I had to choose I would say the Spanish one is mucho better. Check out both versions below.

J.Lo’s upcoming CD titled "Love?" will be in stores sometime in May 2011 (my favourite month…she is so thoughtful J)

In Spanish -  Ven a Bailar - J.Lo ft. Pitbull

Chris Brown - F.A.M.E

Last week the first review came out for Chris Brown’s latest CD titled F.A.M.E. He stated that the title stands for Forgiving All My Enemies. The review was positive and other sites kept mentioning that he was receiving positive reviews -   when really everyone was referring to the only review out at the time, which was done by Entertainment Weekly. I mentioned it to my friends who think he is a great artist and they said I was just hating. So I heard the whole album and it wasn’t good. Some songs are alright, some I liked, some are horrible and some I skipped. Below you will find my reaction to each song.

The album came out today and to promote the release he made a stop at GMA this morning. During the interview Chris Brown was asked a question, which he had approved, on the whole Rihanna situation and he wasn’t too pleased. After his performance, TMZ is reporting that Chris Brown went all crazy – he was angry, lost his temper, there were loud noises coming from his dressing room & that he threw a chair and smashed a window. So he approved the questions and he went all ballistic…umm wow he is just a mess!!

That’s a sure way to promote your album and your new & improved image. Good luck to him! He hasn’t changed and clearly he needs serious help. Go Rihanna - Her CD and singles are doing well. Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E probably won’t do so well. Too bad, better luck next time. And don’t hurt anyone in the process please.

After listening to the whole F.A.M.E album (the deluxe CD) here are my thoughts on each song:

Tim Hortons' Should Promote My Idea

Below is an article found on Macleans' website discussing the issue with Tim Hortons' coffee lids. I personally agree and don't like the flimsy lids.  Back in December I made an entry promoting my take on how to make your coffee drinking experience much more enjoyable. My idea can be found at the bottom of this posting.

Tim Hortons’ double dribble

Why is Tim Hortons, with its leaky coffee cups, sitting out the race to build a better lid?
By Jason Kirby, Macleans.ca

Photographs by Andrew Tolson

Every morning millions of bleary-eyed students, factory workers and cubicle dwellers are united in their quest for a Tim Hortons “fix.” Well, that, and the unending frustration that is the #&@% Tim Hortons coffee lid. You know what we’re talking about. The little plastic tab that’s supposed to tear back and fit snugly into the notch but tends to rip at an angle instead, leaving a jagged edge. Even if the tab tears properly, it’s always popping back up anyway. And the leaks!!! The primary function of a lid is simple enough—keep liquid and heat in the cup—yet as the dampened masses of the Tim Hortons nation can attest, the company’s lids seem specifically designed to liberate one’s beverage from the cup and send it dribbling down your hand and onto your shirt. We’ve all been there. Only, it doesn’t have to be this way.

The coffee lid has gone through a revolution in recent years. You can see that in the superior lids on offer from Tim Hortons’ many rivals. Every year dozens of new disposable lid “inventions” are filed with patent offices. Never have there been so many enterprising and reliable lid designs for restaurants to choose from—lids with raised and contoured spouts, ones that rotate to open and close, anti-spill lids engineered with chambers to keep coffee from leaking out, and even “smart” lids that function like a French press or that change colour with the temperature of your drink.

Yet, through it all, Tim Hortons has sat squarely on the sidelines. Now, even as Tim Hortons celebrates the 25th anniversary of its Roll Up The Rim contest this week, a grassroots campaign is gaining steam among Facebook users and bloggers who all share the same unrelenting message for the company: ordering a double double shouldn’t have to mean dribble dribble.

My posting from December 2010 would help all Tim Hortons coffee drinkers. You're welcome :)

Posh Veils

Over a week ago I had the opportunity to be part of Posh Veils’ photoshoot for its new collection of veils. Miss S (Sharon Chironda), the owner and designer, asked me if I wanted to be there and help out. Miss S has bounced her ideas to me since last year when she first started her own business and I was glad when she invited me to the photoshoot.

It was a fun and interesting experience. I was there to help and support Miss S with an objective point of view. I'm all about giving my opinion and thoughts, and as Miss S & other people know I'm picky with details (hopefully I didn't annoy anyone at the shoot…Haha). The shoot was a completely different setting than my office job; it is fast pace, more creative ideas flying around and overall more fun. Everyone at the shoot made it a fun experience.

Posh Veils’ 2011 collection launches today. The pictures from the photoshoot are now up on the site. If you are a bride to be or want headpieces for a special outing/event then check out the site at http://www.poshveils.com/
