Tim Hortons' Should Promote My Idea
Below is an article found on Macleans' website discussing the issue with Tim Hortons' coffee lids. I personally agree and don't like the flimsy lids. Back in December I made an entry promoting my take on how to make your coffee drinking experience much more enjoyable. My idea can be found at the bottom of this posting.
Tim Hortons’ double dribble
Why is Tim Hortons, with its leaky coffee cups, sitting out the race to build a better lid?By Jason Kirby, Macleans.ca

Every morning millions of bleary-eyed students, factory workers and cubicle dwellers are united in their quest for a Tim Hortons “fix.” Well, that, and the unending frustration that is the #&@% Tim Hortons coffee lid. You know what we’re talking about. The little plastic tab that’s supposed to tear back and fit snugly into the notch but tends to rip at an angle instead, leaving a jagged edge. Even if the tab tears properly, it’s always popping back up anyway. And the leaks!!! The primary function of a lid is simple enough—keep liquid and heat in the cup—yet as the dampened masses of the Tim Hortons nation can attest, the company’s lids seem specifically designed to liberate one’s beverage from the cup and send it dribbling down your hand and onto your shirt. We’ve all been there. Only, it doesn’t have to be this way.
The coffee lid has gone through a revolution in recent years. You can see that in the superior lids on offer from Tim Hortons’ many rivals. Every year dozens of new disposable lid “inventions” are filed with patent offices. Never have there been so many enterprising and reliable lid designs for restaurants to choose from—lids with raised and contoured spouts, ones that rotate to open and close, anti-spill lids engineered with chambers to keep coffee from leaking out, and even “smart” lids that function like a French press or that change colour with the temperature of your drink.
Yet, through it all, Tim Hortons has sat squarely on the sidelines. Now, even as Tim Hortons celebrates the 25th anniversary of its Roll Up The Rim contest this week, a grassroots campaign is gaining steam among Facebook users and bloggers who all share the same unrelenting message for the company: ordering a double double shouldn’t have to mean dribble dribble.

My posting from December 2010 would help all Tim Hortons coffee drinkers. You're welcome :)

I concur...
The March issue of Toronto Life came in this morning at work. My coworker and I completely agreed and laughed....as the VP walked in the office...awkward.

Posh Veils
Over a week ago I had the opportunity to be part of Posh Veils’ photoshoot for its new collection of veils. Miss S (Sharon Chironda), the owner and designer, asked me if I wanted to be there and help out. Miss S has bounced her ideas to me since last year when she first started her own business and I was glad when she invited me to the photoshoot.
It was a fun and interesting experience. I was there to help and support Miss S with an objective point of view. I'm all about giving my opinion and thoughts, and as Miss S & other people know I'm picky with details (hopefully I didn't annoy anyone at the shoot…Haha). The shoot was a completely different setting than my office job; it is fast pace, more creative ideas flying around and overall more fun. Everyone at the shoot made it a fun experience.
Posh Veils’ 2011 collection launches today. The pictures from the photoshoot are now up on the site. If you are a bride to be or want headpieces for a special outing/event then check out the site at http://www.poshveils.com/

Havoc: My iPhone, Swinging Bagman & the TTC
I got up this morning all ready to go for another regular work day. I got ready, got on the bus and got to Eglinton West subway station. I had just missed a train, so I had to wait 5 minutes for the next one. The train comes and as I was about to get on a man in front of me suddenly decides to take off his backpack. The man swings his bags like he is doing some trick. His bag makes contact with my earphones - pulling the chord and my phone out of my hand. My phone hits the train and falls onto the train tracks.
Swinging Bagman: What? What?
Moi: My phone!! Hello!?!?!Swinging Bagman: (as he gets off the train) What happened?
Moi: Are you serious? My phone just fell on the tracks!
Swinging Bagman: I don’t see it, where is it?Moi: It’s on the tracks.
Swinging Bagman: You need to go tell the TTC operator.
Moi: NO! You need to go to tell him!
So the operator tells me that I need to wait for someone else to come and retrieve my phone. Luckily my phone fell underneath the platform and not directly on the train tracks. My phone was facing down so I was thinking that maybe the screen had cracked. A woman comes by and she tells me that I will get my phone and not to worry. I want to say thanks to that woman for the nice words (plus she was pretty and had a nice smile…hahaha). Anyways, I had to wait like 45 minutes for the TTC guy to come. I showed him where my phone was and he made a phone call to delay the train that was on its way to the station. I was happy that I was part of a TTC train delay (delays happen everyday, every hour, every morning and I just get annoyed by them – this time I wasn’t hahahaha). I got my phone and quickly checked the screen and turned it on. The phone was fine, but it did get a scratch on one of the corners …my iPhone has gone through a lot and it’s still in one piece. :) I was happy but kind of annoyed that I had to wait soooooo long. I could have just jumped onto the train tracks and gotten my phone a lot quicker or the TTC guy who was watching the other TTC collector could have gone to get it. TTC waste sooo much money!!
I managed to call work and inform them of my situation. I couldn’t call earlier since I don’t really know my work’s number or anyone’s number for that matter…lol…bad, bad, bad I know. So I got to Union station and bumped into my friend, Mr. A. I was starving so I needed food. We sat down and enjoyed our McDonald’s breakfast. I finally made it to work around 9.45am when I normally start at 8.30am. (If any of my co-workers are reading this please ignore this last paragraph :))
The rest of the day has been ok and my iPhone is working just fine.
