Las Vegas: Part Dos

Here are some more shots from my trip to Las Vegas. On the second day, my friends and I decided to go on the Grand Canyon Tour - the West area.

We had to go to the Grand Canyon and given that it is one of the seven wonders of the world, it was a must for me. It was awesome and the view is amazing....everyone should go and check it out and who knows you might the so called “bug,” which is the urge to go back several times and check out the south, east and north area.

The tour started really early – you get picked up from your hotel before 7am and leave the tour center at 7.30am. About an hour and half later you make a pit stop at Hoover Dam, and then a couple hours later you reach the Grand Canyon. First area of the tour is Eagle Point and this where they have the Skywalk. Of course I went on it! It was cool…walking on glass that's so high up at about 4,700 feet was pretty cool! The view is amazing!

The next stop was Guano Point . Here is where lunch was provided – food was really good and filling. At Guano Point you can also do more viewing of the Grand Canyon and do some climbing to get an even better view. Below is a video I took from the top of the mountain.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

This past weekend I got the chance to watch The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Thanks to Mr. J, who read my earlier post on the book version and sent me the movie – the Swedish version that came out in 2009 and in North America in 2010. The movie was well done and I liked it just as much as I liked the novel. Of course the book is more detailed, so I few things were missing, but overall the film did a good job. The film has done really well grossing more than $104 million worldwide and winning many awards. If you haven’t seen the film, I suggest you see it. And if you haven’t read the book, then definitely read it! Now, I am really looking forward for the Hollywood version coming out in December.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Currently on Teletoon Retro they are airing the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers at 12:30am. The show was awesome back in the day. I use to watch it every single day and pretended to be the red ranger...hahaha! If you saw it, I am sure you loved the show and pretended to be one the five rangers as well...so no judging!! The show was a big hit and many other versions were aired in later years, but  nothing beats the original rangers that aired from 1993 to 1995.

Watching it now, many years later, you can tell the acting, storyline and fighting scenes are not the best, but at the time they were awesome....and in my eyes, it will continue to be awesome! If you want to watch it and relive some of the good old days, then check it out on Teletoon Retro.  

American Music Awards 2011 - Jennifer Lopez

Here is my choice for the best performance at the 2011 American Music Awards. Clearly there was no other artist that came close to outdoing Jennifer Lopez and her medley performance of 'Until it Beats No More,' 'Papi,' and 'On the Floor.' Most of the other performances were OK and blah, but they didn't have the energy and drive that J.Lo had. The only part that was weird, and that I didn't like much from her performance, was the Fiat section. The product placement was way too obvious and un-neccesary...the video for 'Papi' does a perfect job already. The rest of the performance she was on fire! Go J.lo!!!

Also, Jennifer Lopez is the current Queen on YouTube with the most watched music video by a female for her song 'On the Floor.' I like the song and the video, so watch it and keep her at the top!!!

TITANIC 3D

The 3D version of Titanic is set for an April 6, 2012 release. I am not a fan of 3D movies because most of the time it's unnecessary and just pointless since there is actually no 3D in the movie. I have mixed feelings about this Titanic 3D version because the main reason is to make more money on a movie that should be left alone. Anyways, check out the trailer and maybe you will be interested in watching the movie next April.

Take Care - Drake Ft. Rihanna

Rihanna featured Drake on her album, Loud, on the single "What's My Name?" I liked the song and it did well on radio.

 

Now, Drake is featuring Rihanna on his new album, Take Care, on the title song by the same name. Take a listen to the song. I like it up to the 3:15 minute mark - after that it sounds like a mess.

 

 Drake's album comes out next week (November 15, 2011).

Sons of Anarchy

First of, it has been awhile since my last post and that is because I went to Las Vegas. It was a much needed break from work. I will be sharing some of my adventures from my trip during the next several days.

Secondly, awesome news about Sons of Anarchy – the show will have an extra episode this season. Apparently the season finale is going to be big, so the show needs an extra episode to have a proper conclusion to this season’s major story. The season will now end on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011. Mark your calendars and watch it!
